NRL team lists Round 11, news, late mail: Line-up ins and outs latest, featuring Wacko’s Whispers
NRL ROUND 11 – Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy has declared he will make team changes for their clash with South Sydney in Perth.
Bellamy has once again warned personnel changes will be made following the Storm’s shock loss to the Gold Coast last week.
While gun forward Nelson Asofa- Solomona (broken hand) is also a chance to run out on Sunday, rookie hooker Brandon Smith is in line to make his NRL debut.
Turning 21 in two weeks, the former Cowboys NYC gun was part of David Kidwell’s New Zealand Test squad for the trans-Tasman Test just a few weeks back.
Last weekend Smith was a standout in the Queensland Cup and Bellamy has taken notice of the kid being groomed as long-term successor to his namesake and club captain Cameron.
“He’s not a big kid but he’s tough. They are the type of kids we like,” Bellamy said.
“He’s a big chance of going over there with us.
“He’s been knocking on the door for a couple of weeks, soon that door will open.”
